Marketing & Communication

As Marketing and Communication Officer Germany at Sunshower you will be responsible for relationship management with all parties in the Sunshower chain on the German market. In Germany, Sunshower products are sold mainly through wholesalers with the help of installers, rather than through specialist bathroom retailers. Because consumers in Germany are further away from the product than in the Netherlands, it will be your job to clearly map out the Customer Journey in order to reach consumers via the right campaigns. You support the wholesalers, installers, but also the end consumer.

Currently there is no annual and monthly marketing plan for Germany. You will draw up this plan, and you will be given a great deal of freedom within the guidelines and frameworks of Sunshower. It is therefore important that you can work independently, in close consultation with the Communications Manager in the Netherlands and the responsible sales colleague in Germany. For example, you will set up the German website, draw up social media plans and write newsletters. You will do all of this in German, so it is essential that you speak and write the language fluently. You are always asking yourself how best to present Sunshower to consumers, dealers and installers.

As there is no concrete communication plan yet, you will be given a lot of freedom in developing one. TV commercials are too expensive in Germany, so you try to reach consumers mainly through social media. You research who your target group is, on which channels they are active and how - and when - you can best appeal to them. You also write newsletters that you will send to existing Sunshower consumers. You can also request interesting contacts from the sales team to approach with your newsletters.
You will also consult with the Marketing and Communications team in the Netherlands on this, but as the German market is really different, the communication must of course respond accordingly.

In Germany, Sunshower products have so far only been sold through wholesalers. As a result, you have little perspective on the Customer Journey. It will be your job to change this. Communication needs a new approach that is much more consumer-focused.

You develop and maintain relationships with German stakeholders and visit dealers and installers in Germany a few times a year. It is important that you can move independently in the German market and have a strong character.

The Marketing and Communications team consists of a Communications Manager and two people in the Marketing team. You work extensively with external agencies for PR, Branding and SEO, among other things. Your colleagues from the Marketing team focus mainly on the Dutch market, but you consult, coordinate and exchange ideas. In addition, during the first few months, you will have intensive contact with the sales team, so that you can get to know the market and clients well.

If you enjoy getting to know the German market and having a lot of freedom in your work, and if you like the challenge of setting up the marketing and communication for the German market independently, then this is the job for you.
