'The Tropics in my bathroom’
Robin (49) is the father of two children, self-employed in the graphics industry and owner of several shops in the Randstad He lives in Zandvoort, which is handy, given that he likes swimming and sailing. Rain or shine, Robin likes to be on or in the water. So that Sunshower was a godsend 2 years ago. Not only for its UV light, but also for of the infrared 'heater' that warms muscles up and soothes back ache.
'I am not unfamiliar with SAD. The darker it gets outside, the gloomier my mind gets. Of course, I could take off to the Tropics in winter, but with a busy job that's easier said than done. That's why Sunshower is such a blessing. I have brought the Tropics to my bathroom, shall we say. It's banished the worst of the winter blues and I feel much more energetic.
Safe source of vitamins
Now that Sunshower provides him with UV light, Robin no longer uses the vitamin D supplements that he used to take in winter. "But too much of anything is never good for you and I've never been one to exaggerate. That is why it is nice that I can determine the length of the program myself at Sunshower. I almost always opt for a short program with a low dose of UV light.'
Piece of cake
Why do things the hard way? Robin is enthusiastic about how easy the Sunshower is to use. 'You take a shower, switch on the lamp, for both UV light and infrared, et voilà. Normally, after intensive exercise, I wouldn't bother to treat my muscles separately, but with those infrared rays it's a piece of cake.'
Appearances count too
Nobody wants anything ugly in the bathroom. Neither does Robin. It’s so nice that the Sunshower looks good too. But of course that is not the reason that Robin has a Sunshower. Neither is the fact that the infrared rays are good for his muscles. 'For me it is mainly about Sunshower taking the edge off my winter blues, and that is not only good for me, but also for the people around me.'
