Testimonial Noor - Raynaud's syndrome
Noor (63) has been married to an Italian for 40 years, hence her beautiful surname. She has a yoga practice in Doorn and teaches at the oldest yoga training school in the Netherlands, Saswitha Opleiding voor Yoga & Wijsbegeerte in Bilthoven. Noor loves warmth and sunshine, partly because it benefits her health, and would prefer to live in a warm country. So it makes sense that she considers the Sunshower her best purchase of 2022.
Why does Noor consider Sunshower her best purchase of 2022? 'Do you have a moment?', she asks. 'There are a lot of reasons. First of all, it's good for my body. I have Raynaud's syndrome, an immune disease, which means that my capillaries lose their elasticity. In my case, this means that I often have cold, painful fingers and toes.' It is therefore important for Noor to keep herself warm. That's why she often wears thick socks and mittens and, you guessed it, loves to stand under her Sunshower. 'After showering with UV light in the morning, I am symptom-free for a few hours.'
Clear mind
But, as mentioned, there are more reasons why Noor is a fan of Sunshower. 'The warmth gives me an intense feeling of well-being. It's my ultimate wellness experience in my own sunny bathroom paradise. Sunshower actually brings that warm country where I would love to live to my home. Of course, the sunlight also makes me look better, feel younger and more energetic, but the light also has a mental effect on me. Under a layer of grey clouds, I have less clarity about what I need to do. Light clears my mind, allowing me to stay in control of my own life and not become overwhelmed by everything that comes my way during the day. In short, those rays of light in the morning make me look forward to the day and see what really matters.'
Yoga in front of the Sunshower
And then there is the infrared function. Noor often presses that button in the evening too. It helps her sleep well. Noor may stand in front of the Sunshower every day, a few times a week with UV light and every evening with infrared rays, but because she uses water sparingly, she only showers in the morning. And even then, the shower turns off after two minutes while the UV light stays on. 'I usually do some light yoga exercises. I move my shoulders, my neck, my pelvis and stand on one leg with my arms in the air. And yes, an added bonus is that it even gives me a tan under my armpits.'
