'A ray of sunshine in our home!’
Martijn is a retired child psychiatrist and 73 years young. He doesn't feel old. Sitting around idly all day is not his style. He is too busy for that. Sports, sailing, cycling and playing the piano. There's always something to do. And yes, Martijn loves the sun too. Be that outside or indoors. So for the past five years he has felt blessed with his Sunshower, with infrared and UV light.
'I am young at heart, if I say so myself, and still feel as fit as a fiddle but, as the saying goes, age can be a heavy burden. The body gets stiffer and the bones more fragile. To avoid breaking anything, due to a minor mishap, I make sure to get enough vitamin D. Our Sunshower is a great solution and helps to keep my bones strong.'
Wake up cheerful
The Sunshower provides Martijn with more than a healthy portion of vitamin D. ‘I go for infrared when my muscles need it and in winter, when the days are short and gloomy, I go for UV light. Showering with sunlight means that even when it's grey and gloomy outside, I wake up feeling cheerful and energetic.'
The fact that Sunshower supplies dosed UV light, something that is substantiated scientifically, is so important to Martijn. 'As I like spending time outdoors and on the water, I am always fussing with sunscreens or clothing that covers my skin well. It is reassuring to know that Sunshower provides safe UV light. No burning sun, no creams and oils, but a skin that gets used to natural sunlight in a healthy way, so that I am less likely to burn. We noticed this during our travels through South America, for example. As we had absorbed a lower dose of UV light every day during the winter months, our skin was better protected against the sun there.'
A ray of sunshine
Martijn is clearly very enthusiastic about his Sunshower. 'The key is the combination. If it only contributed to stronger bones, I might neglect using it, but because it feels good, gives me a healthy complexion, gives me more energy and is also also easy to use every day, I do use it every day. Sunshower is our ray of sunshine!’
